Job Title: Communication Assistant  
Reporting to: Communication Officer
Sector: Communication
Location: Sayun
Deadline: 15 February 2025

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Document the organization's projects and activities (photos & videos) in accordance with the media policies of the organization and donor in Hadhramaut Governorate.
• Process and edit publishable photos using the latest software and submit them to the direct manager.
• Archive photos according to the organization's archiving system.
• Produce short video content for platforms, apply technical modifications, and ensure optimal presentation.
• Prepare and manage the weekly documentation plan in coordination with project managers and photographers.
• Arrange the field visit schedule for photographers.
• Safeguard all photos and videos as the organization's intellectual property, ensuring they are handed over as official assets.
• Participate in conceptualizing shot scenarios for stories of hardship, success, advocacy films, and case studies as required.
• Capture success stories (photos and videos) and collect beneficiary information using the latest tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with project teams to select suitable beneficiaries for success story documentation and execute the artistic vision.
• Organize scenes, lighting, and backgrounds to achieve the intended photographic objectives.
• Accompany external photography and editing service providers to produce video reports on project activities.
• Coordinate with designers and logistics teams to prepare printed materials for field visits, such as banners, posters, and uniforms.
• Follow up with project officers to ensure that the social media officer receives project-related news updates.
• Establish a visual library that preserves all current and future images.
• Prepare all required reports and submit them to the direct supervisor.
• Archive data, documents, and photos following the organization's archiving system.
• Actively participate in periodic meetings and organizational discussions.
• Utilize self-learning opportunities and develop professional networks to enhance specialized competencies.
• Follow occupational safety and health regulations while performing tasks.
• Provide suggestions and insights to improve the organization's performance and report any issues affecting its integrity, impartiality, or reputation.
• Comply with the organization's established systems, procedures, principles, and institutional values.
• Perform other relevant duties assigned by the direct manager.


 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


• At least two years of professional experience in photography and video editing.
• Preferably, experience in photography within the humanitarian sector.
• Strong understanding of best practices and procedures for capturing images and maintaining modern and traditional photography equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, accessories, Gamble, drone etc.).
• Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• High proficiency in editing photos by photoshop and lightroom.  
• Intermediate-level English (spoken and written).
