Job Summary

As a Senior Data Engineer at Jisr, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data models that provide a single source of truth for metrics and analytics. Core responsibilities include developing data pipelines for extraction, transformation (using SQL and dbt), and machine learning operations. You will also audit data quality through automated SQL tests. The role involves collaborating with DevOps to enhance data infrastructure and working with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Data Analysts to capture data points, measure user journeys, and provide actionable insights that are integrated back into the Jisr HR Platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design data models to serve all data consumers and ensure accurate metrics and analytics.

• Develop data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and machine learning operations, primarily using SQL and dbt.

• Audit data and address quality issues using written and automated SQL tests.

• Own the data infrastructure, collaborating with DevOps to identify improvements.

• Work with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Data Analysts) to define data points for capturing user journeys and provide valuable insights.

• Feed metrics back into the Jisr HR Platform to enhance customer insights (Reverse ETL).

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.

• Expertise in data modeling (Relational & Dimensional), advanced SQL, and complex data transformations.

• Experience with Java/Python and writing clean, maintainable code.

• Familiarity with data orchestrators like Airflow, Dagster, etc.

• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), with GCP as a plus.

• Knowledge of dbt and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau is a plus).
